THE LOSS OF SOMEONE DEAR

Imagine the loss of someone dear,
A heart in pain, filled with fear.
Hurt so deep, it’s all you see,
You go to pray, seeking to be free.

Temptation pulls to focus within,
To talk it through, to maybe dwell on sin.
But this path leads to deeper despair,
Fixing on pain, your heart to snare.

Instead, turn your gaze to God above,
Focus on His mystery, His boundless love.
In Christ’s life, let your heart find light,
Your depression will break, your soul take flight.

A wounded child in its mother’s embrace,
Finds strength and comfort, grace upon grace.
Climb into God’s lap, feel the shift,
Your heart will heal, with a gentle lift.

Let God’s love overshadow your plight,
Bringing peace through the darkest night.
For in His presence, you will see,
Your pain becomes significantly free.
